RiP!: A Remix Manifesto
09 Mar 2010, written by Riz 1 CommentsRiP!: A Remix Manifesto is a 2008 open source documentary film about the “the changing concept of copyright” directed by Brett Gaylor. I know this is now 2 years old, but somehow I never heard of it, and I love the entire concept.
Created over a period of six years, the documentary film features the collaborative remix work of hundreds of people who have contributed to the Open Source Cinema website, helping to create the “world’s first open source documentary” as Gaylor put it. Gaylor encourages more people to create their own remixes from this movie, using media available from the Open Source Cinema website, or other websites like YouTube, Flickr, Hulu or MySpace. I was doing some youtube viewing of old Girl Talk shows that I had been too, and this popped up. If you have never seen GT, please go check out a show. The energy is great and you will never have more fun at a show.

There is nothing in this world that makes me more angry than musicians crying about piracy. Its not going to stop whatsoever either roll with it or get rolled on loosers.
