This summer I got a chance to participate in an upcoming film and even though it was brief, uncredited, and I didnt have any lines, it was still something I bragged about for the better part of 6 months.
“Love Lies and Seeta” is a Independent cross-over movie project that was started early this year. It is an Indian American Independent film shot in Manhattan, Brooklyn and New Jersey with an ensemble of
American and Indian Actors. It is an urban romantic comedy about a love triangle set in NYC. This is my kind of story, so naturally I was excited to be a part of it any way that I could.

The movie follows the lives of 3 guys who met Seeta, an adopted indian daughter of american parents – by chance at different points in their life, grow up and move to NewYork. Another chance encounter with her again in NY, and all three fall for her. However, Seeta doesnt believe in Love. What happens next forms the story that many of us can naturally relate to. The movie explores the friendships, subtle differences among the friends during a Summer in New York, and is a sort of nod to hollywood and bollywood films all rolled into one.

The movie is being made with a modest budget and includes a cast and crew that have already made a name for themselves in independent cinema and media in the US. The movie was shot with revolutionary RED cameras, which are used by many Hollywood Directors such as Peter jackson , Steven Soderbergh and now Chandra Pemmaraju. This helps the film to be shot at a great quality with a lower budget, so that the production values are not compromised.

4 of the cast members are now booked for doing various televison shows, and couple of hollywood feature films starting in the next few months.

Chandra: Writer / Director Chandra Pemmaraju, born and raised in India moved to NYC working for a Financial Services company. After deciding to pursue film making as a full time career, he attended NYFA (New York Film Academy) and started making short films. 2 of his short films May Beetle and Kissing Miss Jones are credited on imdb and played in various international festivals.
