Trying to connect actors to movies is a favorite past time of the seasoned movie buff friends but this new app, “Movies Mobile” by New England Complex Systems Institute takes it a bit further. Using IMDB’s database the network allows users to more deeply explore movie connections. NECS is best known for studying network structure influences for economic conditions, but told wired.com that it could also be done with social groups, disease spread and gene networks. A free version of the app is available for iphones.
