Artistic Renditions Of TMNT

While it’s a well known fact that each of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are named after influential artists (no, they aren’t named after random dead Italian guys,) it’s become difficult for some people to place the name with their respected art pieces, lazy as art education as become. These awesome drawings pose the iconic turtles as pieces of art by their respected namesakes. As an additional bonus there are additional artist renditions of the turtles including Salvador Dali, Monet, and Picasso’s style to recreate our green friends, cowabunga dude.

How To Suck At Facebook

suck

I know we rag on annoying and ridiculous Facebook users a lot, but this list of “How to Suck at Face” via the Oatmeal was too accurate not too share. Not to mention the simplistic art work that accompanies the info is pretty funny. Let’s just say we are trying to spread the word of people’s outrageous behavior on the book, to make it a better and safer place for all users, enjoy.

Geisha By Two Twelve

212header
Two Twelve, or 2:12, is a stencil artist out of Houston, Texas. Like many other street artists 2:12′s identity is kept private for obvious reasons. 2:12′s mission is to bring art to the streets, he uses all hand cut stencils and nothing is mass produced, he stresses quality over quantity. Each takes several hours and is created as if it were painted on a canvas. 2:12′s favorite part about his art is knowing that it won’t last throughout time. Each piece will be subjected to the natural elements and change over time, for better or for worse, but that’s life. The video below is what first turned me onto 2:12. The video shows the process he goes through when spray painting each piece. This video is put to some rad music and sped up to give you an awesome inside look at his creation in fast forward.

After looking at 2:12′s other work I was compelled to share more of his creations with you. If you like his work he also has more sped up videos of his artwork, you can visit his site here. Big ups to 2:12 keep doing your thing.

Apple Introduces The iPad

ipadd
So today is the day of Apple’s big announcement, which I dont really give a crap about because I’m not into all that Apple stuff aka cool technology, fast reliable products, virus free gadgets, I’ll stick to my PC machines all day. Steve Jobs made one of the most anticipated announcements in Apple history: the iPad, pretty terrible name if you ask me, sounds like something a girl should stick between her legs if you know what I mean. The hardware and software had event attendees up on their feet applauding. Before we get into a deep run-down of the device, here are some specs you need to know right off the bat.

-0.5″ thick and 1.5lbs light
-9.7″ IPS display, capacitive multitouch touchscreen
-Built-in accelerometer, mic, 30-pin connector, 802.11n Wi-Fi, compass, Bluetooth 2.1 EDR
-10 hours of battery life and one month standby time!
-1GHz Apple A4 processor
-16GB, 32GB and 64GB Flash storage

On top of all this, the iPad will run the applications you already have for the iPhone. It can appear on the screen one of two ways: pixel for pixel accuracy in a black box or pixel double it and run the application in full screen. Typing on the iPad was made to look like a breeze with a large software keyboard that pops up on the screen when typing is required. That ought to give you all a taste of things to come as the event is still very much in progress.

Update: The lowest price point is $499.99 plus date plans from a carrier.

The 13 Best Exam Answers

exam1
When I would get stumped on a test, or just flat out have no idea what the question even meant, I would usually leave it blank or just rewrite the question and then add fake equations hoping for partial credit. I always knew I would be getting a fat goose egg on it and wanted to give the teacher a right hook as I handed in my test. I wish I had the mentality of these clever students who instead of leaving their answers blank, came back with a clever “go screw yourself teacher” move. I applaud all these kids, creativity goes a long way, but in these cases mostly goes only as far as an F minus.

Pill Popping Pill Art

It is no secret a lot of celebrities have drug problems. American artist Jason Mecier decided to address this problem in his own way. He created a few well known celebrity pill abusers using only prescription drugs. His mosaic portraits are extremely realistic when looked at from afar, but every pill is easily seen when zoomed in. He claims that there’s not any ‘fooling’ about his artworks, and that he is not using any trick shots or studio touch ups to create his artworks. You can check out his other work which is awesome as well. He uses other items like beans, yarn, makeup, candy, and other junk to make realistic mosaic portraits, check his website here.

Late Night Humor: The Art of The Beer Pong Slam Dunk

pong

Now I have to admit I’m not a huge fan of playing beer pong anymore, but in college I was a straight shooter. My favorite part of beer pong was completely destroying everything on the table by superman diving across the room and throwing down a Charles Barkley dunk on the cups. The video below has to be an early entry into funniest videos of 2010. Every second of it reminds me of college and the dumb shit I used to do with my friends.

Shaun White Unveils New Trick

This Thursday marks the start of X-Games 14. Shaun White looks to 4-peat on the SuperPipe with his new trick, the Double McTwist 12. This years X-Games will be held January 28 through January 31, 2010 in Aspen, Colorado. Shaun White could become the second person in Winter X history to three-peat in two different disciplines. Tanner Hall was the first (SKI Slopestyle, SuperPipe). Shaun White is one of those guys who is so good at what he does it pisses you off. I love Shaun White and everything he has done for the sport and it seems like he is just pushing snowboarding to another level. Good luck to Shaun not only in the X-Games, but more importantly the Olympics.
