Revelation’s Crib Of The Week: Spetses House
29 Dec 2009, written by Revelation 2 Comments
Located in Spetses Island, Greece, this post modernist residence features clean lines and serenity based concepts. Designed by Divercity which was found by Nikolas Travasaros and Demetra Karabelia back in 2004 in Athens. Today Divercity practices has offices in London and Athens.

The house features a contrast of blending with the surroundings, yet when looking at it from the water it sticks out as its own form, playing off the greenery its nestled in. The main feature of the house is the infinity pool in the rear that so perfectly appears to die right into the ocean and sky. This house is still getting the final touches put on it and is up for sale, go buy it, I’m sure it’s really cheap.

The Real Simpsons House

No, a crazed Simpsons fan did not replicate the cartoon’s famous home. This $120,000 house was constructed for use as the grand prize in a contest sponsored by Pepsi, Fox, and the homebuilder. The contest was known as “The Simpsons House Give Away”. The 2,200-square-foot 4 bed room home was part of a national promotion coinciding with The Simpsons season premiere. A drawing determined the winner of the $150,000 home which is located in a new subdivision in Henderson, Nevada, about 10 minutes from downtown Las Vegas. The house was done by Kaufman and Broad architects who spent hours watching episodes of The Simpsons to capture every detail.

By the way Rza leave the architecture stuff to me, your list of weird houses were all commercial buildings haha. This week I bring you a residence in the Dominican Republic, which I want to call it “Skaters Paradise”. Done by the architect firm A-cero, the house is composed of sleeping zone and living zone, and was organized into 2 blocks and connected by a covered veranda, while featuring curved volumes emerged from the ground. With a singular architectural idea and a certain level of risky, peculiar of the team that Joaquin Torres directs. There appear two blocks well separated from that there arises a game of curved volumes that look for the vertical position from the covering. The housing is projected by demand of program of needs of the client, in only one plant. There is dressed the whole house of an indigenous stone of Coralline of clear tones (white – beige) that, to part of the proper quality of the material, a visual aspect that prospers with the abundant solar light, and the marine reference.
