Nightmares Never Sleep
05 Mar 2010, written by Riz 0 CommentsNew York street artist WK Interact brings the intimidating power of Dwyane Wade to life on the streets of Brooklyn. The French urban artist based in NYC, has been featuring his street, studio and commissioned work from the last 10 years, and this video really reveals the depth of his creative process. Famous for his black and white painted murals of skaters, kung-fu masters boxers and mountain climbers, all of his work incorporates a unique and often eerie sense of motion. I really like this video because I was driving through Brooklyn the other day and saw this MASSIVE Dwaye Wade Nightmares Never Sleep billboard. I couldnt stop thinking about how great it was, and now I know why!
The Adventures Of Mr. Fly
05 Mar 2010, written by Revelation 0 CommentsA boy from the chocolate and waffle country – Belgium – made Mr. Fly into a celebrity.
As written in JPG magazine Nicholas met Mr. Gerald Fly in his garden while shooting some cliché flowers. As always, there was a sob story to follow: Over the years Mr. Fly degraded from a successful cab driver to a poor lonely insect as he had 173 wives who cost him a fortune on make-up and clothing. Not to mention his 2184 kids, who all needed money for education and iPods. So Nicholas offered him a job as his new photography model.
And I have to admit that both Nicholas and Mr. Fly are very talented in what they do. If you’d like to see more photos by Nicholas, his Flickr gallery can be found here.

Tattoo Tester-Avoid Regret
04 Mar 2010, written by Riz 0 CommentsJuliAnn Miller, a graphic design student at CCA in San Francisco, designed this packaging that she did for a recent information design class.
“We were to design work for a social or political cause; I chose tattoos for my topic,” she says. “This
Tattoo Tester is a kit that comes with certain papers so that the user can create custom temporary tattoos (transfer paper and carbon paper). The kit also includes a brochure with information on tattoo statistics and a brief history of tattooing.”
The box is made from light cardboard and all printed material is printed on recycled kraft paper. All typography is in various weights of Myriad Pro. Im a big tattoo fan, and one of my main concerns whenever I get new ink is how its going to actually look on my body. This is a great solution!

Mysterious Shadows That Lie Behind Every Day Objects
03 Mar 2010, written by Revelation 1 CommentsThe work above is the perfect example of two truths: that things are not always what they seem and more metaphorically, that sometimes we have to view things in a different light to discover a new meaning. If this sounds too cryptic, just marvel over how these artists breathe new life into simple, wall-mounted cut-outs by providing them with an interesting shadow. If minimalism isn’t your thing then you can take in the “piling up a bunch of junk” style to create shadows as seen further below. I guess my wolf hand puppet isn’t going to cut it anymore at New York art shows.

Costume design was done by Danielle Ward and the photography was done by Brian Carter. Also as a side note from the creators, they wanted to let you know that no comic books were harmed in the making of this project.

Going Ga Ga Over Lady Gaga Dollar Bills
23 Feb 2010, written by Revelation 0 CommentsKudos to US based artist Craig Gleason for morphing the Lady Gaga viz Ms Germanotta’s face with revered George Washington and that too on US Dollar bills. Don’t worry, they are not going to be punished for this creative artwork as this is a series of hand-painted dollars. These morphed dollars can be purchased through real dollars from Etsy shop here or Craig Gleanson’s blog. If you a fan of Lady Gaga, you would definitely purchase the artistic dollars featuring Lady Gaga with the real dollars.

T- Shirt War!
23 Feb 2010, written by Riz 0 CommentsWe have posted a ton of stop motion videos recently, and to be honest, I think thats a good thing. Stop motion takes a ton of effort and a ton of time, and it should be recognized. Rhett and Link, who made this video, give an explanation of how they actually made this gem.
TECHNICAL EXPLANATION FOR GEEKS LIKE US: We changed shirts over 100 times each, taking individual pictures of each unique shirt. The designs on the shirts are not photoshopped. They are real shirts for each frame of animation. The video was exported at 30fps, while the T-shirt animation moves at 6fps (with a few exceptions where it moves faster) So, for each shirt, we took 5 pictures, so the animation of us (Rhett&Link) moves at 30fps, but the T-shirt animations move a bit slower. There are a few places where the motion seems so smooth that it looks like video. That’s because, in those parts, there was no changing in T-shirts, and Joe used burst mode to capture the frames, making it look very smooth.
