Ecstasy: Three Tales of a Chemical Romance
31 Aug 2011, written by Riz 0 CommentsThe trailer for the long-awaited film adaptation of Irvine Welsh’s Ecstasy: Three Tales of a Chemical Romance is the long awaited follow up to Train Spotting, but lets be honest, there is only ONE Train Spotting.
Obviously, it’s different story and a different set of protagonists than Trainspotting, but this Rob Heydon-directed bit lacks all that hard grit of Danny Boyle’s film and only rubs that it in with a quick flash of a fish-eyed lens in a “high” shot. There could be a lot of things that make this film less compelling, but I think the 80s drug grit of Spotting is something that cant be matched. I do like the idea of hitting on some mid 90s hard rocking techno joints. Brings me back to high school and what the club scene once was and how you will only know if you experienced it that clubs and techno was once a world of its own, and not the Jersey Shore.
Copyright FOREVER!
24 Aug 2011, written by Riz 0 CommentsThis is a pretty cool video that explains how copyright laws have morphed from protecting writers into protecting corporations and hurting the public’s consumption of entertainment. Come on though. Star Wars go rereleased 17 times?! Thats just out of control. Darth was cool, but seriously, lets get a grip.

Spike Lee to Direct Old Boy Remake.
06 Jul 2011, written by Riz 0 CommentsFor those of you who have seen Old Boy, your probably shaking with anger at the idea that Spike Lee is going to try and top Park Chan-Wook’s classic, but it looks like its pretty close to being a lock. Since it’s part of the Vengeance Trilogy, it’s sequel-ready — that’s three chances to butcher this amazing film. I guess we can all just cross our fingers and hope for the best.

The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo Trailer Leak
31 May 2011, written by Riz 0 CommentsOn Saturday, a leaked trailer for the David Fincher-directed remake of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo was posted to YouTube and quickly started bouncing around the Internet. The hyperkinetic minute-and-a-half clip—set to a propulsive, industrial cover of Led Zeppelin’s “Immigrant Song” by Trent Reznor and Karen O—was enough to get this Millennium trilogy fan stoked for the film’s release in December. The YouTube video appears to have been shot surreptitiously in a movie theater, and when it was first released viewers figured it had been shot in Europe, where the red-band trailer started screening last week.

The Bully Project
28 Apr 2011, written by ZootPatrol.com 0 CommentsBullying has been a hot button issue for more than a year now. Bullying is as old as us being monkeys and everyone seems to have a different view on it. Whether you don’t care and think it builds character for those being bullied or it’s a behavioral problem with the bullies and our society. Whatever your take, everyone can benefit from watching ”The Bully Project” and getting some real insight into what goes on. Especially since most of us ZP readers are 20 somethings with no kids and are no longer connected to the vicious high school popularity scene. The Bully Project is a documentary thats making some noise at the Tribeca Film Festival and is poised to be a driver behind tackling the issue of bullying.
Movie Connections App.

Six degrees of Kevin Bacon anyone? We live in a world trying to understand connections in everything so why not movies? Trying to connect actors to movies is a favorite past time of the seasoned movie buff friends but this new app, “Movies Mobile” by New England Complex Systems Institute takes it a bit further. Using IMDB’s database the network allows users to more deeply explore movie connections. NECS is best known for studying network structure influences for economic conditions, but told wired.com that it could also be done with social groups, disease spread and gene networks. A free version of the app is available for iphones.
Extended Green Lantern Trailer
04 Apr 2011, written by Riz 0 CommentsI really dont think Im alone when I say that I have a hard time taking Ryan Reynolds seriously. Do I think hes funny, yeah, sure, a super hero, ummm, Im not really too sure. This trailer is pretty bad ass though, so I will give this movie a try, if based on nothing more than that one green lanter with a duck head. That guy just looks like hes going to be an awesome character.
