Did you hear that the NYPD created an anti-Islam training video for its new hires to watch? Roughly 1,200 police officers watched the video, and of course, now NYC is up in arms about this. You can watch it for free here.
This is a pretty cool infograph from the New York Times on how police riot gear has changed drastically in the last 40 years or so. Have things become so bad with protestors that cops need to dress like they are stepping into a robot war on a foreign planet? Click to enlarge this so you can really see all of the components and swag these cops roll with.
Why this isn’t more of a big deal to Americans is beyond me, especially when the same areas that have gotten hit hard with tornadoes and devastation, are being hit again these upcoming days with even worse weather. The death toll is now over 150 and is only getting higher. Zoot sends our condolences to the families and people effected by the horror, and here is an intense photo montage showing before and after pictures of Joplin Missouri. When you see these photographs you will really understand how bad it really was and if that wasn’t enough, I added a video that will surely make your heart wrench. It is an interview with a woman who was saved by her husband during the tornado. He shielded her over a bath tub and gave his own life to keep her safe, the whole story is explained in the video, now that is true love, REVELATION OUT.
Many more before and after pictures as well as that video you should check out below
The rapper Common was invited to take part in a White House Poetry event on Wednesday, angering some GOP members who claim the hip-hop artist’s lyrics celebrate violence. Last night’s “Evening of Poetry,” part of Michelle Obama’s White House Music Series, reportedly went smoothly, showcasing performers like singer Aimee Mann, comedian Steve Martin, and former poets laureate Billy Collins and Rita Dove. But some right-wing idiots criticized Common’s participation in the event, pointing to controversial rhymes he recited on a 2007 episode of HBO’s “Def Poetry”: “Why they messing with Saddam? / burn a Bush cos’ for peace he push no button / killing over oil and grease / no weapons of destruction,” Im not too much of a fan of Commons newer stuff, but Ill give him credit for this. Amazing poem and a great performance. Some people really have a problem with this, but I would still love to see the reaction if Weezy got invited to the White House.
Yay for murdering, Osama bin Laden has been killed in Pakistan, during a joint operation by the CIA and Special Forces personnel.
Here is President Obama’s statement, take clear notice of him walking off like a BOSS at the end.
For some reason I actually do think we are the only ones in this tiny tiny universe, as obviously depicted by the picture above. Either way it is weird as hell to think about a whole other civilization living out their lives a trillion light years away. It’s pretty ridiculous of myself to think we are by ourselves, but you know what they say, believe in nothing you hear and only half of what you see, and I aint seen shit yet.
On this Earth Day following the disaster in Japan it’s important to remember that we are all in a long term committed relationship with Mother Nature and if we are a shitty boyfriend she will soon reign blows upon us. Maybe its the access to information or maybe there have been more natural disasters in recent years, there’s studies to argue both, but no matter how you look at it Mother Earth is a force to be respected and treated well. At any given moment she can stop our hustling civilization dead in it’s tracks if she feels like it. Here are NASA images of three major blows from mother nature in the past year. Seems like people are starting to see the big picture though with more focus than ever on clean and sustainable solutions, so that’s a positive this year. Do something most of us normally wouldn’t do today and pick up a random piece of trash and put in the garbage or recycling. Happy Earth Day!

A lot of people complain about the prices of gas and that we are only in Iraq to get oil so the rich can get richer, well I hate to break it to you politician majors but gas is not really that expensive when comparing it to the rest of the dumb shit you have no problem buying every single day without hesitation. Although it was sweet when gas was a dollar a gallon and I was able to fill up my dope 1992 4 door chevy cavalier for ten bucks, at car got me more butt then ashtrays…… Not.
