For those of you who have seen Old Boy, your probably shaking with anger at the idea that Spike Lee is going to try and top Park Chan-Wook’s classic, but it looks like its pretty close to being a lock. Since it’s part of the Vengeance Trilogy, it’s sequel-ready — that’s three chances to butcher this amazing film. I guess we can all just cross our fingers and hope for the best.
Im in the process of building one of my own for Burning Man this year.
There is a new addition to photographer Jay Maisel’s 70+ room mansion on Bowery and Spring (my favorite building in the City). A street artist pasted up a poster of ‘Kind of Blue’ album by Miles Davis. Andy Baio of Waxy.org created Kind of Bloop, a chip-tunes version of the legendary album. Sounds super rad right? It was until he got sued for copyright infringement of the cover which he didnt license. Jay Maisel, the photographer of the original work sited Shepard Fairey vs. the AP fiasco, and Baio settled out of court for $32,500.
Here’s the first trailer for Chasing Madoff. See securities analyst Harry Markopolos bring down Ponzi-schemer Bernie while pondering purchasing a gun for protection in a dramatic reenactment. Anthemic score! Urgent title cards!
High speed trains in the US would definitely be the way to travel, at least on your coast. Japan, China and Europe already have them. This concept driven by UK designer Paul Preistman, takes it a step further. His vision for local movable platforms that pace the high speed trains and transfer passenger creates a true non-stop train. Futuristic design is a step closer reality.
Happy Friday Zoot Nation. Enjoy. BTW, the image above is me on a regular Friday night.
The best jail in the world.I might do a crime just to post here for a few years.
Fat Kid Freak out.My little brother was like this when we were kids, except he wasnt fat. He had way cooler hair as well.
Dancing Gorilla. Im 100% convinced that this Gorilla jacked these dance moves from my best friend Tom.
Kenny Scharf can finally stop worrying about writers tagging over his mural on Bowery. French street artist JR will now be the one wondering just how long it will take for his Squinting photo mural to be the next graffiti hot spot. The new piece of DJ Two Bear is high in contrast to Scharf’s colored dripping faces. Lets see how long this will last before it is completely covered in random tags.
In a matter of hours, Banksy’s latest piece which was a tribute to London graffiti writer TOX who was recently convicted of criminal damage, had been identified, located, measured, and then boarded up! Presumably, the work was covered to protect Jeffrey’s Street residents from getting a new window chiseled out of their wall for some eBay coin. This is getting ridiculous.
