It may not come in the ornate case that Brian Fantana had, but Anchorman’s Sex Panther is very real. It’s officially licensed, and you know what that means – 60% of the time, it works every time.

Growing up in the 1990s, one of my fondest memories has to be the movies and TV shows that came from the era. This goes without saying that action movies and TV shows were often accompanied by many memorable quotations. What makes these quotations even cooler than they are? That’s right. Placing them in a visual format, with amazing stained-glass-esque images of the action icon they came from.
I don’t think we have to explain how much we dig Girl Talk around here, he is the man, so when we stumbled across this we were pretty excited. Evan Roth’s video for Girl Talk’s Cache Rules Everything Around Me was made entirely from animated GIFs he found around the web. Take this song and these awesome GIF’s which supply endless amount of entertainment and you got a solid ten minutes of video and music to slap a smile on your face and get in the grooving mood for the weekend to start. LETS GOOOOOOOO.
We featured Stjarnan Iceland’s fish celebration a while back, found here if you missed it, but these guys aren’t just a one trick pony. They recently have been catching buzz for their human toilet celebration which is found below after the jump, but they have been doing this sort of thing for a while now. The team actually dedicates a time slot after practice to come up with and rehearse different goal celebrations. For the most part they are all awesome and below is a montage of all their best celebrations to date, my favorite might be the Rambo one, just murdering the whole field haha.
human toilet celebration found below.
I have been a little fixed gear heavy as of late, but my bike is in the process of being built, and Im a bit stoked, so relax, cut me some slack, and be greatful. For fixed-gear cyclists, Los Angeles is a city that has it all. From the neon glow of Hollywood to the sun-drenched boardwalk of Venice Beach, fixed-gear has evolved into a vibrant street culture that is uniquely L.A.
From director David Rowe (Fast Friday) comes a new documentary feature that explores a side of L.A. few outsiders have seen. From races through rush-hour traffic to midnight loft parties, To Live & Ride in L.A. is a fast paced-trip through the busy streets and back-alleys of one of the world’s largest cities.
To Live & Ride in L.A. features talented local riders tearing up the streets with first-time visitor Keo Curry (Fast Friday, Macaframa) – one of the living legends of the sport. Bike to hidden spots off the map, race a midnight alley-cat, keep pace with the riders from Wolfpack, and hang with the local crews, graffiti artists and other L.A. personalities burning up the fixed-gear scene.
As much as I would love to tell all of you that these were done by kids at an elementary school, and that the youth of America is finally picking up on how ridiculous hipsters are, I can’t. They were done by Molly Lewis the artist formerly known as sweetafton23 (http://sweetafton23.com/) who does some great nerdy songs about Mr T, My Space, stalking astronauts, and peeps. She’s Molly23 on Twitter (where she posted the pics of them first).” I don’t see how you can not laugh at a dinosaur rocking tight cut off jean shorts a flanel smoking American Spirit cigs while drinking a pbr and talking about Elliot Smith.
We have written a ton of articles on kicks. What can we say, we have style. If there is anything we really love, its when we find out that one of our favorite comic book characters gets idolized in a shoe. Batman is the shit. Bottom line. Robins not bad either, but always being a backup has to be tough to deal with. The Batman and Robin custom Nikes were created by Brass Monkey and are available for purchase. The cost isnt in US dollars though, so Im not sure what these things will run you. Whats the strength of the yen now a days anyway?
From 1968 to 1975, gangs ruled New York City. Beyond the idealistic hopes of the civil rights movement lay a unfocused rage. Neither law enforcement nor social agency could end the escalating bloodshed. Peace came only through the most unlikely and courageous of events that would change the world for generations to come by giving birth to hip-hop culture. Rubble Kings, a documentary freshly touring the festival circuit promises to be a comprehensive portrait of the gang-ruled NYC and the birth of hip hop culture. Awaiting a release date, this is one that is on our list for sure.
Here’s a pretty interesting study done by the folks over at the dating site OkCupid.com, who pooled a sample of 526,00 users to see what different key words various races used in their profile descriptions.
We selected 526,000 OkCupid users at random and divided them into groups by their (self-stated) race. We then took all these people’s profile essays (280 million words in total!) and isolated the words and phrases that made each racial group’s essays statistically distinct from the others’.
Results are as racist and funny as we expected.
