Check out this incredible floating stage on Lake Constance in Bregenz, Austria. The Bregenzer Festspiele (Bregenz Festival) has become renowned for its unconventional staging of shows. Verdi’s opera, “A Masked Ball” in 1999, featured a giant book being read by a skeleton.

NASA: The Frontier Is Everywhere

10 Jan 2011, written by Revelation 0 Comments

Disappointed with NASA’s lack of ability to “share their hopes and dreams in a way the public can relate to”, Youtuber Damewse made a video to help give the space agency’s hurting media department a bump in the right direction. If you wanted to be an astronaut when you were younger and you’re not one, get ready to be disappointed with your career choices.

Check out the pictures and information below on this little piece of Heaven as we cover everything you ever wanted and needed to know about the coolest island on Earth, sigh…

You Need To Get Off Facebook

05 Jan 2011, written by Revelation 3 Comments

Here’s a pretty awesome video of some dude listing off the many reasons why you should start living a life outside the bounds of Facebook. I’ll be the first to admit that I enjoy Facebook. Even though I greatly reduced my time on the site, I still feel I am on it too much. As a Facebook user, this video is refreshing and gives me insight into how much I’m engorged in this world when I take notice of the way I live my life, the things I do and the people that I meet is directly affected by how it would look on Facebook. I think me and Facebook need to take a little time apart from each other.

Favorite line: “You don’t have 852 friends, you have about 4. And that’s good.”

Backyard Booty Segment – Natural Progressions

14 Dec 2010, written by Revelation 0 Comments

No this is not a rump shaking booty contest video tapped in a back yard in Atlanta, Georgia. This is Ryan Flett’s segment for KMC’s Backyard Booty in Nelson BC. The segment is about the transition everyone in Kootenays makes from Fall into Winter. From the moment the season ends they are waiting for it to return. So this video captures the Fall winding down, and the excitement and beauty of the transformation of humans and nature enjoying winter again, and he really captures the essence of that concept flawlessly. Every trick in the book is used in this video, from time lapse, 3d photos, super slow motion, and every other awesome technique you can use. I really wish I owned a $10,000 dollar camera, the footage of my drunk friends puking into watermelons would come out so much clearer (actually happened). Locations:West Kootenays, Nelson,Baldface Lodge. All footage shot on 7D with 24-105 L, 3D Photos (PS CS5 and AE CS5), Time lapse (Raw compressed with Quicktime 7),Editing (FCP 7 and Magic Bullet)

It was filmed with red one,Sony ex1, canon mark2D5 and edited with adobe premiere cs5 and after effects.

Mozilla Seabird: The Cellphone Of The Future

08 Dec 2010, written by Revelation 0 Comments

In a mobile industry shrouded in secrecy and lawsuits, where every major player is always in the process of suing or being sued by their competitors for patent violations and intellectual property fraud, it’s nice to find an ‘open’ and collaborative design project amongst the walled gardens.

As part of Mozilla Labs’ Concept Series, the Open Web Concept Phone project received an intriguing submission from product designer Billy May. After rounds of extensive community feedback and suggestions, Billy has finished his exploration of ‘Seabird’ and what the mobile device of the future might look like.
