Bad Barbie: The Works of Mariel Clayton
17 Jan 2011, written by Revelation 0 CommentsOntario artist Mariel Clayton isn’t the first social commentator to decry Barbie’s negative effect on society, and she definitely won’t be the last. But she just might be the most grisly. Her art features Barbie in myriad situations that would put Mattel in a tizzy. Sex, bondage, suicide, murder — it’s all there, in tiny detail. You can also check out more of her work at her website found here.

More over the top Barbi, with commentary about the project from the artist herself below.

17 Dec 2010, written by Revelation 0 CommentsIf you ever dreamed of visiting Hawaii, now there is one more reason: an amazing architectural retreat that will have you feel relaxed and at ease if you choose to rent the property named Hale Kana Kohola. Situated in Big Island, Hawaii, the retreat features 4 bedrooms with their own bathrooms and an additional 2 bathrooms, an open floor gourmet kitchen and dining area, a media room and a significantly relaxing living area. Even your clothes will have a vacation in the walk-in-closets that can be found near the bedrooms. The outside deck has a covered lanai adjacent to the infinity pool that will have you playing in the water all day long. The most amazing feature of the entire retreat remains a unique way to take full advantage of the 3rd story whale watch retreat that offers 360º views across the land and bay shore from the sunrise over Mauna Kea to the sunset over the Pacific Ocean. Being so close to the water it`s only natural for the retreat to offer challenging exotic outdoor equipment like: kayaks, snorkeling equipment and stand-up paddle boards. I Want That! Tron Skatecycles
14 Dec 2010, written by Revelation 0 CommentsHere’s a short video of a Tron-inspired skate cycle tooling around the streets and sidewalks of NYC. I’m sure that I would break all my legs and arms if I rode one of these Tron Skatecycles, but it’s so blueblazingly neat that I’m tempted to order one. Too bad it’s one of a kind. It was designed by Alon Karpman at Brooklyn Workshop to celebrate the Tron craze that is about to invade the world. According to Alon, this is the product of a “nerdgasm.” I agree, and I’m sure many will experience the same sensation watching it in action.
The New Facebook Profile Picture Everyone Should Have
14 Dec 2010, written by Revelation 1 CommentsSo yesterday I got the new facebook profile and cut up my face to pretty much take up the whole screen and everyone was asking me how I did it, usually I would ignore such requests and leave them thinking I was some kind of artistic genius but in actuality I stole the idea off the internet like pretty much everything else I do. It all started with French artist Alexandre Oudin (seen above), who decided to maximize the new facebook layout. I am sensing this is going to become a big hit with facebook users so jump on the train before it becomes old news. For anyone who wants to copy his style, all you have to do is block the other photos you’re tagged in and upload photos to your profile pictures album that are the exact size (yes, down to the pixel) of the display on Facebook and voilà!
The 5 little ones: 97 x 68 pixels
The big one: 180 x 532 pixels
UPDATE: DV has been kind enough to create a tool that cuts up your image for you, just upload you picture and it does everything for you, check the comment section for the site.

Mozilla Seabird: The Cellphone Of The Future
08 Dec 2010, written by Revelation 0 CommentsIn a mobile industry shrouded in secrecy and lawsuits, where every major player is always in the process of suing or being sued by their competitors for patent violations and intellectual property fraud, it’s nice to find an ‘open’ and collaborative design project amongst the walled gardens.
As part of Mozilla Labs’ Concept Series, the Open Web Concept Phone project received an intriguing submission from product designer Billy May. After rounds of extensive community feedback and suggestions, Billy has finished his exploration of ‘Seabird’ and what the mobile device of the future might look like.

Durex Ads Make Wearing A Condom Fun Part 2
08 Dec 2010, written by Revelation 0 CommentsOf course I think every man can agree that not wearing a condom is a lot better than having to strap on a piece of rubber, that is not really a debate, but it is something we all have to do. No one wants to have a kid at 14 years old or have their pride and joy body part look like a hot dog that was left on the grill for 9 hours. So Durex, the famous condom company, has tried to put humor and creativity into their ads, which they have done a great job, to promote condom wearing. Be smart wrap it up idiots, and if you missed it here is part 1 we did a while back with a bunch more awesome condom ads.
