Heres a trailer for the new Bad Meets Evil album set to drop from Eminem and Royce 5’9. June 14th is a big day. Not only is it when this album will drop, but its also Flag Day, as well as our own Revelations bday. Eminem actually called the Zoot headquarters and told us he would be giving us a special bday present. We had no idea it would be the album of the year!
In Eminems newest video, he is giving a major poetic shout out to his home town of Detroit. This isnt a music video, but more of a head nod to the streets that raised him and the streets that he is clearly happy to say that he is from. Detroit is kind of a weird story if you ask me. Its the backbone of the auto industry in this nation, but the place couldnt be more of a dump. All you hear is how hard the people work, and how their determination and sweat help mold their city. I admire that, but also kind of feel bad for them too. These people work so hard, and are barely keeping their heads above water. Maybe instead of a cute youtube video, Em could start sprinkling around some of the Shady Aftermath paper to these people. Just a thought.
While it is a fact that Eminem has nothing to do with this mixtape being released, it is definitely worth posting for everyone’s enjoyment. The mixtape composed of 9 songs has some really old stuff, like Emulate with Obie, but it also has some unreleased tracks I am guessing are from the Relapse time, were released by Studioleaks.com. The CD has a horrible DJ on it who does a pretty bad job mixing the songs together but it is what it is. For the most part it is Eminem just spitting hard on some tracks, so take it for what it’s worth. My favorite song would probably be G.O.A.T.,
“So when Weezy says that he’s better than Jay-z
Please, be that just subliminally
Means he thinks Jigga’s the best and that he’s
The only one up in that league, see
And it’s easy just to consider me one of the greatest white rappers there is
Knowing god damn well that I’m one of the best motherfucking rappers who ever lived period.”
Thank god the wait for the I Need A Doctor wasn’t as long as the wait for Detox itself, but this video is truly amazing, and hopefully this is a sign of what else is to come from Dre and Detox. The video starts off with Dre staring out into the ocean with flashbacks from his days with N.W.A. and Deathrow, and it is an amazing look into the career and longevity he has had in the rap game. He peals off in his whip and then disaster strikes, and the song picks up from there. All we can say is Hellllllllllll Yeaaa, welcome back Dre, lets’s gooooooooo.
Bonnaroo has now reached it’s 10th anniversy, and with a milestone like that, fans have been waiting patiently while other big festivals have already announced their lineups. Well it was Bonnaroo’s turn and they did not let their fans down with this one. Buffalo Springfield will headline the event after a 43 year hiatus. The group includes Neil Young, Stephen Stills, Richie Furay and Jim Messina. Buffalo Springfield is best known for the song “For What It’s Worth”. They will be joined with Eminem, Mumford and Sons, Lil Wayne, and the Strokes just to name a few. I have said I am going to Bonnaroo the past 5 years with no success at all, so maybe this will be the one.
Rap supergroup Slaughterhouse and budding superstar Yelawolf signed to Eminem’s Shady Records, it was announced today (January 12); and the entire new roster will all appear in the March 2011 issue of XXL magazine.
“Yelawolf and Slaughterhouse, it’s kinda phase two of Shady,” says Eminem. “It’s the new generation of Shady Records and as we’re trying to rebuild our label, it’s exciting for hip-hop and with all of these forces coming together and with what everybody’s capable of on the mic, it’s gonna be fun.”
Bringing together the East Coast, West Coast and Detroit in the middle, Slaughterhouse consists of Crooked I, Joe Budden, Joell Ortiz and Royce da 5’9”. Most recently, Slaughterhouse was featured on “Session One,” a bonus track on Eminem’s 2010 blockbuster Recovery album. Eminem is expected to be personally involved in Slaughterhouse’s sophomore album scheduled for release in 2011.

Alright so today I got a boat load of some awesome new rap music, which is something I can’t say much these days, but there is some quality tunes here. I will start you off with two new Eminem tracks that came out this past weekend. We assume they were slated to be on his last CD but due to him having over 100 songs he had to make some cuts, but these are some awesome tracks that deserved to make the album. Then there is a real club banging song from Akon and Ludacris that uses the techno song Sandstorm as a sample for the beat, so yea its pretty good. Next Chris Brown makes his return again with a unbelievable performance from Busta Rhymes and Lil Wayne to really make the song. Wiz Khalifa is really killing it right now and he isn’t disappointing with his new song released today called Teach You To Fly. And lastly another track from Weezy F Baby don’t call him the baby, baby, called One Night Only. Enjoy the tunes.
MORE HOT TRACKS BELOW
This dropped a few days ago but I couldnt find a good enough quality video to share with ZootNation. This is a pretty solid line up and an even better topic that they all are rhyming on. Its nice to see a group of rappers finally acknowledging the fact no one is into lyrics any more and all kids now a days care about is a hot beat. Its kind of funny that 50 is on this song since thats pretty much how he gets fans and sells records. Finally Jay Z can say he redeemed himself a little bit since he got ‘murdered on his own shit’ by Eminem on Renegade. He actually lays it down pretty nice on this track. Enjoy before its pulled!
