4 Jams You Should DL. Eddie Money Owns Edition.
29 Oct 2010, written by ZootPatrol.com 0 Comments
Eddie Money is truly a forgotten pop star of the late 70′s and 80′s. Eddie had a string of top 40 hits in the 80′s and single handedly brought back the front man in slick suit look. Everyone knows “Take Me Home Tonight” but probably doesn’t have it on their ipod. The best part of an Eddie Money jam is that they have the same feel good, crank at the bar, sing along vibe as “Livin on Prayer” or any of those played out songs you here everywhere you go. But you don’t hear Eddie everywhere go so you never get sick of him and start hating the assbags and sorority girls singing along. God I hate “Livin on Prayer”. Used to like it and I’m from Jersey too but try going to a bar or wedding in NJ and not hearing it. Here’s 6 of the best Eddie Money jams. He’s also Joe Dirts hero in case you didn’t know.
Eddie Money – I Wanna Go Back
Eddie Money – Shakin

4 Jams You Should DL. 80′s Playback.
15 Oct 2010, written by ZootPatrol.com 0 CommentsThe recycling of 1980′s culture just keeps getting stronger. If you don’t believe me head to Williamsburg, BK hang with some hipsters you will think it is the 80′s. Plus the jersey shore types are just a new version of the 80′s hair band rock scene. Laughable, but for some reason catches on. Either way 80′s rule and don’t be ashamed to get caught digging the jams. Here’s a few plus that Samsung phone commercial song in case that’s been stuck in your head.
Sick stache Oates!

Hall and Oates – Out of Touch
Psychadelic Furs – Love My Way

4 Jams You Should DownLoad. Wes Anderson Soundtracks Edition.
06 May 2010, written by ZootPatrol.com 0 CommentsThis weeks edition focuses on the hopeless optimist sounds of Wes Anderson’s hopelessly optimistic movies. The soundtracks are usually comprised of 60′s folk/punk that really allow you to feel the emotion of the scene. Mostly, good jams for cooking breakfast and trying to feeling good about the day.
The Kinks – This Time Tomorrow (Darjeeling Limited Soundtrack)
The Who – A Quick One While He’s Away (Rushmore Soundtrack)
4 Jams You Should Download. 80′s WannaBes and Goodtimes.
16 Apr 2010, written by ZootPatrol.com 0 CommentsNothing that really connects this week’s edition of 4JYSDL. Just some good time tunes you might like. The Drums have a real mellow 80′s sound to them while Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zero’s – Home is a great whistle song that will be stuck in your head for days and leave you whistlin dixie. Wish I could actually whistle.
1. The Drums – Don’t Be a Jerk Johnny
2. Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros – Home
4 Jams You Should DownLoad. Rough, Rugged and Raw East Coast Hip Hop Edition.
11 Mar 2010, written by ZootPatrol.com 0 CommentsThere was time in east coast hip hop, just after the days of tight jeans, white Reeboks and silver boom boxes on shoulder and just before the flashiness of bad boy records, puffy and glamorous hip hop. This is when the rough, rugged and raw side of east coast hip hop began to emerge into the spotlight. The videos of the time consisted of harsh amplified emotion by artists who resembled street soldiers usually in dark places, looking ready for war. Wu-Tang first emerged in this era and was able to stand the test of time, other groups like Das Efx, Heltak Skeltah and Gravediggaz fell off in the mid-late 90′s when flashy hip hop re-emerged. This side of hip hop lives on but doesn’t get much credit because the songs certainly don’t hold up in the club ready, bling manufactured world hip hop has become. The instinctive raw emotion of hip hop began here.
1. KRS One – Sound of Da Police
2. Run DMC – Down with the King

Four Jams You Should DownLoad
16 Sep 2009, written by ZootPatrol.com 1 CommentsHere’s four jams you should add to your collection if you don’t have them already. This edition has a bit of an 80′s theme but only 2 of the 4 were actually released in the 80′s.
M83 – Kim and Jessie
Great 80′s vibe though not 80′s definitely could of made the closing montage of a John Hughes film.
Romantics – Talking In Your Sleep
You won’t mistake this for 80′s, these guys have awsome hair.
The Sounds – Rock n Roll
The Sounds have started to make a bit of a mainstream move stemming from their UK roots, look for them to be everywhere soon. Their lead singer Maja Ivarsson is a bad ass fox that works the stage like Gwen Stefani used to before she became a pop queen.

Maja Ivarsson - The Sounds
Talking Heads – This Must Be The Place
Great jam for cold beers and a sunny day on the beach.
