What do you get when you mash together high definition video, Steven Hawking knowledge, a dope beat, fire, firecrackers, things exploding, and all in slow motion? The answer is this awesome video sure to entertain your bored self. I just wish Hawking broke into a gangster rap or started cussing profusely, that would be rad, but I guess that’s the only thing really missing from this video. The video was made by Mike Barzman, a Vimeo user from Los Angeles, California. The audio track is called Pink Terror which you can download on Barzman’s site.

3D Movie Extravaganza and 3D HDTVs Becoming Reality!

10 Mar 2010, written by ZootPatrol.com 0 Comments

With the success of Avatar 3D and it’s ability not only to create an extraordinary visual experience but also pull the viewer deeper into the plot you better get ready for the 3D barrage.  Formatting a film to 3D only takes about 16 weeks and is relatively inexpensive for a studio to do, in the months to come don’t be surprised to see re-released 3D versions of your favorite visually stunning flicks such as  Lord of Rings and The Matrix.  Wired.com reports that a source close George Lucas has confirmed he is spending the 10 million it will take to update his 1976 classic Star Wars.

On top of that we have had heard rumors of 3D HDTVs coming out but nothing concrete.  Well Sony announced yesterday their pricing and release dates of the LX900 series which they unveiled in Las Vegas in Jan.  Panasonic and Samsung have similar announcements scheduled over the coming weeks.   The Sony line is made up of 38 models ranging in screen sizes from 60 to 22-inches. The LX900 series offers integrated 3D functionality with Sony’s 3D active shutter glasses and built-in 3D transmitter, while the HX900 and HX800-series are 3D capable using Sony 3D active shutter glasses and 3D transmitter (each sold separately).  They are dropping in Japan this summer and expect the U.S.A release soon after.  Price range should be in the $6,000 to $3,000 depending on size with 60 inch being the largest.  In 3 years I would expect 3D HDTV to be the new standard.

This brand-new, completely unreleased studio album features 12 previously unreleased studio recordings totaling over 60 minutes of unheard Jimi Hendrix. Ten of these recordings were made between February and May, 1969, as the Jimi Hendrix Experience set out to create the sequel to their groundbreaking 1968 double-album Electric Ladyland. The album features “Valleys Of Neptune,” one of the most sought after of all of Hendrix’s commercially unavailable recordings, and includes exciting 1969 arrangements of the classic signature songs “Red House,” “Fire,” and “Stone Free.” Also includes unheard studio versions of Hendrix’s inspired interpretations of “Bleeding Heart” (Elmore James) and Cream’s “Sunshine Of Your Love.” Mixed by Eddie Kramer, the engineer for all of Hendrix’s albums throughout the guitarist’s lifetime. Produced by Janie Hendrix, Eddie Kramer, and John McDermott, the team behind all of the acclaimed Jimi Hendrix CD and DVD releases since 1996.

What Happens To Dead Elephants In Africa

10 Mar 2010, written by Revelation 1 Comments

Ever wonder what happens to dead elephants, yea didn’t think so but it is pretty interesting. This photo set was taken within 24 hours from start to finish. It was taken in the land of Zimbabwe where an adult elephant was found dead in the middle of nowhere. When the locals found notice they pounced on this thing, and pounced fast. It makes sense, one of those ivory tusks probably gets you a Bart Simpson t-shirt and a Colt-45 handgun, not to mention a elephant leg can feed your family for months. Warning not for the faint of heart. I like the guy in picture 3 going straight for the butt hole, what is he getting out of the anyway geez.

Ut oooooo here they comeeeeeee.

RiP!: A Remix Manifesto

09 Mar 2010, written by Riz 1 Comments

RiP!: A Remix Manifesto is a 2008 open source documentary film about the “the changing concept of copyright” directed by Brett Gaylor. I know this is now 2 years old, but somehow I never heard of it, and I love the entire concept.

Created over a period of six years, the documentary film features the collaborative remix work of hundreds of people who have contributed to the Open Source Cinema website, helping to create the “world’s first open source documentary” as Gaylor put it. Gaylor encourages more people to create their own remixes from this movie, using media available from the Open Source Cinema website, or other websites like YouTube, Flickr, Hulu or MySpace. I was doing some youtube viewing of old Girl Talk shows that I had been too, and this popped up. If you have never seen GT, please go check out a show. The energy is great and you will never have more fun at a show.

Robert Downey Jr. is back as Iron Man, with Don Cheadle at his side. Mickey Rourke takes on the roll of the villan, and hollllllly shit, hes going to kill it. Gwyneth Paltrow, Scarlett Johansson and Sam Rockwell will all be supporting characters, and if the trailer is any indication, this is a must see.

Three McDonald’s Items You’ve Never Had, But Should

Being able to eat anything you want and not gain weight rules, so that’s exactly what I do. Saying I often eat at McDonald’s is an understatement. Being the seasoned veteran I am, I’ve picked up a few tricks of the trade in my years of training and boss eating. Now when you see these sandwiches and read the process and ingredients you are going to think they are gross, but they are not my friend OoOoOOoO they are far from gross. I promise you this, you will not be disappointed with these three diamonds in the rough, sure to satisfy you in every way.

3. The Mc10:35

1. Go to McD’s right when they are transitioning from breakfast to lunch.

2. Order one of the remaining Egg McMuffins from the breakfast menu and also order a McDouble since the lunch menu is now open.

3. Take the egg and Canadian bacon from the Egg McMuffin and put it on the McDouble.

It’s called a Mc10:35 because that’s pretty much the only time you can pull this off. If you have a hangover order this bad boy up and you will be feeling like a million bucks.
