Who Says Vinyl Is Dead?

Sleeveface is a website, and or concept, that takes one or more persons using a vinyl record sleeve on their body to create an illusion. The term ‘Sleeveface’ was coined in April 2007 by Cardiff resident Carl Morris after pictures were taken of him and his friends holding record sleeves to their faces whilst Djing in a Cardiff Bar. His friend John Rostron posted them on the internet and created a group on the nascent Facebook social networking site. From here the craze became more widely known. What makes this concept so effective is the ability to bring an image to life. A lot of album covers zoom in on someone’s face, or another part of their body, and you always want to know what else is going on past the extents. Taking an album sleeve let’s people get creative, and portray their vision of the zoomed out image of their favorite albums. I’m going home and posing with the Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch’s album asap.
