Sure, there are always the standard career choices—doctor, lawyer, teacher—but there are plenty of other options no one ever hears about. Some sound tempting, like a professional waterslide tester, while others will make you count your blessings (ahem, odor tester?). So whether you’re just starting out on your career path or daydreaming about greener pastures, check out the 15 jobs you never knew existed.
1. Odor Tester
Think your job stinks? Try being an odor tester. These employees test the efficacy of deodorants and antiperspirants by sniffing subjects’ armpits. Thanks to all of their nosing around, we’re spared the results of faulty products.
2. IMAX Screen Cleaner
The magnificent, larger-than-life images on IMAX screens wouldn’t be quite as powerful if they were cloaked in a layer of dirt and dust. Luckily, there are companies dedicated to keeping your viewing experience crystal clear. According to Michael Quaranto, cofounder of IMAX screen cleaning company 1570 Cinema Services, the biggest challenge to keeping the screens clean is making sure they’re dust-free (they are so dusty, cleaners usually have to empty their vacuum two or three times per screen).

Glenda Ewart, a very talented artist, from Castlerock, Ireland, creates hyper-realistic dolls of newborn babies. A former chef, Glenda Ewart discovered her talent as her doll-sculpting artist while she was pregnant with her first child. Now she creates realistic baby dolls, using multiple coats of paint, to recreate a newborn’s soft skin. After the skin is cured in the oven, the most strenuous part begins: implanting over 20,000 fine strands of mohair into the doll’s scalp. While others might find this process difficult, to say the least, Glenda Ewart says she loves every moment of it.

I don’t really know if these are illustrated by kids, probably not, but that’s the artist approach taken. Either way these are some really interesting facts with some colorful simplistic art work to accompany them. I liked how the beetle was Hitler’s idea. He seemed like a pretty smart guy. If he didn’t kill about 50 billion humans he probably would have been a pretty respected guy.

Here is a compilation of strange, disturbing and really really painful things found in x-rays. While some are tragic mistakes like a nail gun to the dome, others are just caused by stupidity and being a complete freak, aka shoving a 2 liter coke bottle up your rear end. I just had a conversation with my buddy last weekend who is a doctor and he told me how he gets at least 2 patients a week with something stuck up their butt. Of course when they come in they complain about stomach pains, and then they take an x-ray and BAM, they find that a Tonka truck in their butt is the problem.
